Surf site in Bali
Bali’s southern beach waters produce exhilirating breaks, it is definitely surfing paradise, i’m not a surfer but i do visit some of these beautiful beaches that are claimed as place to enjoy wave.
Kuta and Legian Beach – Soft beach breaks, perfects perfect for learning
Dreamland – My favorite , beach and reef breaks for novice to experienced surfer
Nusa Dua – reef breaks for experienced surfers, best in the wet season (Nov to March)
Padang-padang – The most dangerously tubing for left-handler; works only on huge swells this one leave for the pros
The Balangan – Balangan is a reef break though which differentiates it from Dreamland.
Suluban – The waves are extremely big and break into reef.
Good and Cheap food
I’m not a culinary savvy but i can tell the difference between good and not so good food, as i can’t go to a fine dining restaurant not that i don’t want to but there is a limit on how much money that i have to spend a month in terms of eating 🙁
All i want to say is there are decent affordable place in Denpasar that serve good food {by my standard of course}, ‘Warung Cak Asmo’ is worth to visit and no wonder this place is always pack,besides of its taste and very reasonable this warung is quite clean and nice.array of Chinese food are serve here, amongst them are cap cay, siomay, cah kangkung, seafood and chicken cuisine.
and to end the happy day i got this cool Es Campur Tidar…
2 nasi putih (rice) + cah kangkung+ ayam kecap + siomay + Es Kacang Ijo + Es Campur Tidar = 36.500 rupiah ….i’m a very happy man 🙂 !
Frog Market
My field trip to Pasar Kodok { Frog Market } which is not actually a market that sells frog , this is an area in Kediri, Tabanan Regency about 50 minutes from Denpasar where group of trader established tents to sell imported attire such as jacket, suite,jeans,sweater, t-shirt, short, even bra :). According to traders there the market name’s comes from the location of the market which is located on rice field which people whereas are often find frogs.
Started on 2001 by Madura’s trader most of the goods are imported from Japan,Singapore, Korea. the market is visited not just from local people but also from foreign tourist.
I bought my self 2 training jackets for 30.000 rupiah a piece which cost probably 80.000 rupiah in shopping mall, they are not new but they are nice jacket.
Bali bombers finally executed
After more than 6 years three men that commited Bali bombing(1) is finally executed on Sunday 9 Nov 2008 at 00:15 as far as i can see there are no over reaction nor celebration from lovely people of Bali we just want to move foward and hoping that there will be no more teror on this beautiful Island.
pornography bill signed
Despite all the critics and rally upon pornography bill the House of Representative finally signed / passed the bill on 30 Oct,2008, and Bali as one of few province that clearly disaggree to the bill has stated that Bali refuse to obey the law.
Kuta karnival 2008
Nothing much to say about Kuta Karnival 2008, except the hot weather and not quite a good time when another big event 1st Asian Beach Games was held in similar date [18-26 october], which i think kinda split people attention whether see the Asian Beach Games or Kuta Karnival, but above all i think Kuta Karnival is still better Festival compare to similar event measure by the events and people who come to the event. I just got back to Bali on 24 October, so i guess i miss lot of things during the Kuta Karnival and ABG, but i manage to come to see the closing parade of Kuta Karnival 2008.
media is write protected
i just bought my self a media storage that i need it to store my files that filled up my laptop, i’m so excited when i received the storage but when i plugged it into my laptop and try to create a new folder it reject it say that the media is write protected, after searching a while in the net i found the solution.
- Open Registry Editor ( Start Menu > Run , type : Regedit, then enter/click OK)
- locate the following key/entry :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies - If you see WriteProtect on the right side, double click it and in value data type 0 or delete WriteProtect or you can also delete key StorageDevicePolicies. next is to refresh (View > Refresh)
- unplugged the storage/ USB Flash Disk and plug in again and try to copy / write something to the disk
Waterfall in Center Bali
On my way back to Denpasar not to far from the Tukad Bangkung bridge i saw a sign to a waterfall site many of Balinese may not know or hear about Nungnung waterfall they are more familiar with Git-git waterfall. So i decide to give this a shot on this one and thought its going to be an easy trip.
Even on Sunday (i came on Sunday) this place is so quite, not too many visitors i reckon and when i arrive on the site there’s only 3 motorbikes and a car. for those who are in good shape you wont find difficulties to reach the waterfall cause you have to walk down to hill (about 400 meters).
My personal opinion; it’s okay but not a wow place and it cost me a sore legs for 3 days 🙂
Highest Bridge of Asia
Sunday morning is never been easy to get up, but my mind is set to get to Plaga it is region in center Bali about 45km from Denpasar, the object i want to see is a site that is claimed to the highest bridge in Asia (and definitely the longest and highest in Bali) so i’m going to find out.
Some facts of the bridge:
It is 360 meter long
9,6 meter width
71,14 meter in height.
The bridge is connecting three major region Badung, Bangli, and Buleleng.
