Indonesia Independence day is commemorated every 17 August every year, it taken from the first red-white flag raised in 1945, that 1st President and Vice President who were Soekarno and Hatta declared the freedom of Indonesia.

Indonesian people decorate their neighborhood with flags mostly in Red and White color also unique games are held in every places, i’ll post some pictures later on.

a month full of events

August 2008 is probably the most crowded month in term of events in Bali started by Sanur Village Festival chain with Bali 10K, Kuta Sidewalk Festival on 16-18 and not to forget Indonesia Independence day on 17 August and then late August you can see some creativities in Bali Fashion Week on 24-29 just like chain reaction, and i we can see that visitors to Bali has increase sharply this month indicated by high hotel occupation in tourist center area like Kuta and Sanur so it’s a good sign

Cold trip to jati luwih

Last sunday i had a trip to Jati Luwih i’ve been planing this trip with my friend’s and his wife.

The area actually is not far from Denpasar to go there it will take you in approximately 2 hours.
Well Sunday morning is not always a bright sunny day and we had cloudy day , then my friend had to cancel his participation because of this, but the show must go on.

I’ve never rode to Jatiluwih before so i’d just follow the road sign along the way , and it was pouring rain as we entered City of Tabanan and it’s only 1,5 hours away to Jatiluwih and the trip could not be better when you ride a motorcycle.

Finally arrived and stopped in Jati Luwih, i wander aimelesly to this magnificent landscape of terraced rice paddy field but unfortunately i came not in the right time, they had just harvested last week, man!

below are evidence from the scene.
